The City of Doral is a mix of industrial and residential neighborhoods, and was incorporated in 2003. It has been named the 3rd best place in the USA to retire (by US News & World Report), 51st in Top 100 places to live and launch a business in the U.S. (according to CNNMoney.com) and it has also awarded – “Playful City USA” in 2010-2011.

The name Doral was derived from combining the names of Doris and Alfred Kaskel, the couple who built the Doral Golf Resort & Spa, now known as Trump National Doral, after the purchase of the resort by Donald Trump.

Doral has a large number of importers and exporters, because of its short distance to Miami International Airport and Port Miami, 1 mile and 12 miles respectively. Some of the major employers in the City of Doral include:Carnival Cruise Lines, Univision, U.S. Southern Command, BE Aerospace, Gold Coast Beverage Distributors,Telefutura, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, and many government entities.

Its warehouse vacancy rate at the business parks is around 4% and under 6% for the remainder of the city. The large industrial parks include: PS Business Park’s MICC; Prologis’ Beacon Centre, Beacon Industrial Park and Beacon Lakes; International Corporate Park (ICP); KTR’s Beacon at 97th; andAmericas’ Gateway Park.
